BESCOM Schedules 11-Hour Power Cut in Koramangala and Other Areas on June 23

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has scheduled a power outage on June 23 across several areas in Bengaluru, including Koramangala, as part of a two-day maintenance exercise. The maintenance work, which began on June 22, is being conducted at the Soledevanahalli Substation to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the electricity distribution network. The power cut will last from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, affecting both residential and commercial zones.

In Koramangala, the outage will impact the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Blocks, the Koramangala Industrial Area, and surrounding localities such as Madiwala, Venkateshwara Layout, and St. John's Hospital. Other affected areas include Jayanagar Subdivision, RBI GIS Areas, and several neighborhoods fed by the Soledevanahalli Substation, which will experience extended outages on both June 22 and June 23.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to charge electronic devices in advance, prepare backup power sources if available, and store sufficient drinking water if reliant on electric pumps. They should also plan their work-from-home schedules and business operations around the outage timings and avoid using elevators during the shutdown period. Power supply is expected to resume after the maintenance work is completed, subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.
