Fire at Pallikaranai Dumpyard Disrupts South Chennai
A fire at the Greater Chennai Corporation's dumpyard in Pallikaranai destroyed garbage and seized vehicles, causing smoke to engulf southern Chennai suburbs. The fire, which started in a section with Refuse Derived Fuel waste, was fanned by strong winds, affecting visibility and traffic. Residents in nearby areas experienced breathing difficulties. The blaze was controlled after several hours with the help of fire tenders and water tankers.
