Chennai Police Commissioner Orders Prompt CSR Issuance at Stations

Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj has directed police personnel to ensure that complainants visiting police stations receive Community Service Register (CSR) acknowledgements promptly. Over the past three days, the Commissioner conducted inspections at 12 police stations, including those in Arumbakkam, Anna Nagar, Choolaimedu, M.G.R. Nagar, K.K. Nagar, and Ashok Nagar. He reviewed the functioning of Armed Reserve units and police patrol vehicles during these visits.

Commissioner Amalraj emphasized the importance of providing proper seating arrangements for complainants and issuing CSR receipts without delay. He instructed officers to avoid requiring complainants to make repeated visits to collect acknowledgement receipts for their petitions. Additionally, he stressed the need for cleanliness within the stations and the removal of old vehicles that occupy space in the premises.

The Commissioner also directed officers to identify vulnerable locations within their jurisdictions and to strengthen surveillance through increased police patrols and the deployment of personnel in sensitive areas. These measures aim to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of police services in Chennai.
