19-Year-Old Worker Dies in Velachery Road Accident

A tragic road accident occurred near Perungudi railway station in Velachery, Chennai, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old worker named Jones. The incident took place on Monday when a speeding car collided with a furniture-laden van on the MRTS Road. Jones, who was employed at a furniture store in Velachery, was assisting with a delivery at the time of the accident. The impact of the collision threw him off the vehicle, causing severe head injuries. Despite being rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital, Jones succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. The van was being driven by 26-year-old Sreenath, who has been arrested by the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing police on charges of causing death due to negligence.
