Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging and Traffic Disruptions in Bengaluru

On June 2, heavy rain in Bengaluru caused significant waterlogging and traffic disruptions across the city. Commuters, including those returning home from work, faced challenges as roads in areas like Majestic, Vasanthnagar, KR Circle, and Koramangala were inundated. The downpour led to scenes of people taking shelter at bus stops and shops. A traffic advisory was issued for slow movement from Kadubisanahalli towards Bellandur due to waterlogging at Devarabisana Halli upper ramp and in front of Ecospace.

In addition to the traffic woes, the rain affected flight operations at Kempegowda International Airport. An Indigo flight from New Delhi was unable to land and had to circle the sky due to the severe weather conditions. Passengers traveling to the city from the airport also experienced significant delays. The heavy rain and thunderstorms were part of a broader weather pattern affecting the region, with a yellow alert issued for eight districts in the state.

The situation highlighted the challenges faced by the city's infrastructure in handling sudden and heavy rainfall, causing inconvenience to both road users and air travelers.
