Hazar Nisha, a Tamil Nadu native stranded in Oman for 15 years due to lost documents, has received an emergency certificate to return home. The intervention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and efforts by KMCC leader Rafeeq Sreekandapuram expedited the process. Nisha's ordeal began when a fire destroyed her passport and resident card, leaving her unable to return to India. Despite numerous attempts to secure new documents, she remained in Oman, working various jobs. With the emergency certificate, she can now reunite with her family in Chennai.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited announced that the Phase-2 Metro Rail project has achieved 52.55% completion. The project, costing ₹63,246 crore, spans 116.1 km across three corridors and includes 118 stations. Construction began in November 2020, with tunnelling completed in areas like Mylapore. Elevated sections are expected to finish by 2027, and underground by 2028. The first service is anticipated soon on the Poonamallee–Porur–Vadapalani stretch.
