19-Year-Old Worker Dies in Velachery Road Accident

A tragic road accident occurred near Perungudi railway station in Velachery, Chennai, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old worker named Jones. The incident took place on Monday when a speeding car collided with a furniture-laden van, causing Jones to be thrown off the vehicle. He sustained severe head injuries and was immediately taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Jones was employed at a furniture store in Velachery and was assisting with a delivery at the time of the accident. The van was being driven by 26-year-old Sreenath, who was traveling from Velachery towards Taramani along the MRTS Road when the car rammed into the van from behind.

Following the accident, the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing police registered a case and arrested Sreenath on charges of causing death due to negligence. The incident highlights the dangers of speeding and the importance of road safety measures.
