19-Year-Old Worker Dies in Velachery Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Velachery, Chennai, resulted in the death of a 19-year-old worker named Jones. The incident occurred near the Perungudi railway station on Monday when a speeding car collided with a furniture-laden van. Jones, who was employed at a local furniture store, was assisting with a delivery at the time of the accident. The impact of the collision threw him off the vehicle, causing severe head injuries. Despite being rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital, Jones succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

The van, driven by 26-year-old Sreenath, was traveling from Velachery towards Taramani along the MRTS Road when the accident happened. Following the incident, the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing police registered a case and arrested Sreenath on charges of causing death due to negligence. The accident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations in the area.
