Mylapore MLA Reviews Housing Projects with Urban Habitat Board

On June 1, Mylapore MLA and state minister P. Venkataramanan conducted a review meeting at the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Board office located off Kamarajar Salai. The focus of the meeting was on the redevelopment projects managed by the Board, which is responsible for transforming blocks previously under the Slum Clearance Board. During the meeting, officials provided updates on housing allocations made during the past government tenure, discussed pending sanctions, and reviewed recent developments and ongoing projects in the Mylapore area.

The redevelopment of old housing blocks and their allotment remains a sensitive issue in Mylapore, a locality with numerous such zones. While the blocks in Kuyil Thottam are ready for residents to move in, several issues remain unresolved in Palakkumanyam Nagar. Additionally, development activities are ongoing along the Loop Road and off V K Road in Mandaveli. The meeting aimed to address these challenges and streamline the redevelopment process to benefit the local community.
